Sigurd wines first started in 2012 with a small portion of Grenache sourced out of McLaren Vale as abit of fun and experimentation.

Since then I have based myself in the Barossa Valley and creating a few different wines to try to keep myself just that little bit busier from my day job....

2018 Sigurd Chenin Blanc


Chenin Blanc (100%). Sourced from one of the most northern blocks in Clare Valley, this Chenin vineyard is around 56 years old. It was picked around 11.0 baume and half is then 2/3rds is whole bunch pressed and a small amount fermented on skins for 12 days. The juice was transferred into an old 500L French oak puncheons and a couple second use Russian oak Puncheons. Left to ferment in oak to dryness for about 7 months, racked from oak once and a small amount of sulfur added before bottling.
