2022 Sigurd Reserve Semillon
2022 Sigurd Reserve Semillon
From old, organically run vines rooted in the pale sands of Vine Vale comes a Semillon with clarity and drive. Low yields deliver concentration without weight, with fermentation in new and used French hogsheads and 18 months on lees giving the wine its layered texture and length. It opens steadily over time, showing more of itself across hours or even days. Drink now, or cellar for a decade and watch it unfold.
Old vine Semillon from very old, organically farmed vines in the sandy soils of Vine Vale. Naturally low yields produce a focused and concentrated wine each year.
2022 was a cool and even growing season, delivering both ripeness and concentration. The wine shows more richness than 2021, while retaining its length, finesse and structure.
The fruit was picked in late February and fermented in a mix of one new barrique (Slovenian and French oak) and older French hogsheads. It underwent full malolactic fermentation and spent 16 months on élevage before being racked off lees and hand bottled, with a small addition of sulfur before bottling.
This wine benefits from a decant and can be enjoyed over a couple of nights as it opens. Drink now, or cellar for the next 10 years and watch it evolve.

LABEL DESIGN:
The new Sigurd labels lean further into our Nordic roots - detailed, expressive, and a little more considered.
Textured stock, illuminated lettering and a gold foiled frame draw from Scandinavian design, centred around a coat of arms that anchors the label. With the addition of a neck label and layered shadow, it brings a sense of depth and permanence.
It’s a move toward something more collectible, but still grounded in the same idea - wines with story, place and identity.
Symbolism: The Sigurd Coat of Arms
The Bear
A symbol of strength and protection, the bear has long been part of Nordic folklore - tied to the forest and seen as a guardian. It represents resilience, family, and the instinct to protect and carry something forward.
The Stag
The stag speaks to movement and awareness - travelling through changing landscapes with intent. In Nordic tradition, it’s a symbol of renewal and endurance, with antlers that return each year. For Sigurd, it reflects the journey - adapting, learning, and building something over time.
