This is a bundle of wines that have been reviewed in the Halliday Wine Companion.

Halliday is one of the main wine guides in Australia. Wines are tasted blind and scored out of 100, which can be a helpful way to understand how they’re drinking.

We don’t make the wines with that in mind. Most of the work sits around the edges - finding good sites, working with growers we trust, and making small decisions at the right time. From there, it’s just about looking after the wines and letting them settle into themselves.

🍇 2022 Reserve Semillon - 95 points

Bright gold, lightly hazy. Nutty, savoury, yet shot through with lemon-scented fruit, both preserved and fresh, some cool stone fruit, too. Lanolin, beeswax, citrus curd, lemongrass, salted praline, ground ginger and clove, the palate chewy with tannin and electric in acidity, though it dwells within, a quiet support. It’s a thoughtful, commanding take on the grape, utterly individual and thoroughly engaging.

🍇 2022 Reserve Syrah - 96 points

Tightly wound red and black fruits, dark spices deeply enmeshed, tobacco leaf, black olive, old leather, fennel seed, with a sanguine, bit-lip mineral quality.

🍇 2023 Red Blend - 95 points

(...) All those varieties play their part, fruit rich but savoury, aromatic, mineral, earthy, spicy, structured. Lots of facets. Blackberries and pepper, umeboshi, beetroot powder, iron filings, some blue florals, iris and violet, boysenberry. Complex tannins, tight and granular but also linear, stretching long. It’s a little wild that wines of this patient integrity of process and detail are sold at this price. We’re richer for it.
